Top Tipped Artists 2013
2012 has seen the rise of some of the freshest new producers and the re-igniting of more than one genre. Here we list our Top 10 Artists, who we think are tipped for big things in 2013. You’ll find a mega mixture of old and new artists drawn from a variety of genres and countries, all compiled in one list of the elite. Read on to find out what will be invading the radio stations, charts and clubs near you in the very near future.

 1. Nervo
These two Aussie twins, who have done behind the scenes work for the likes of David Guetta, have recently risen to the spotlight with not only their own stunning creations in the form of You’re Gonna Love Again and We’re All No One, but also their collaborations with the likes of Hook N Sling, Nicky Romero and Norman Doray. Their awe-inspiring euphoric style of music goes down a storm in both the charts and clubs alike.

The duo unleashed an epic assault on 2012 and with each creation they have deservedly smashed full force into the Beatport charts. The future looks bright for these girls, who consistently deliver at such a high standard.

 2. Sub Focus
Previously a big name in the semi-underground dubstep/DnB scene and infrequent visitor to the bottom half of the charts, Sub Focus aka Nick Douwma has recently catapulted himself into the public eye with two consecutive top 30 hits. The producer has quickly made himself into a big mover and shaker in the dubstep world as a mainstream ambassador for his genre. With an album in the making for the coming year, alongside his brand new live show experience, he has made himself one of our top tips for 2013.

 3. Alesso
The combined prowess of the producer’s three Beatport number ones, Years, City of Dreams and Clash leave little room for doubt that Alesso has had an amazing 2012 and with collaborations with the likes of Avicii and Otto Knows on the horizon, the future cannot look brighter for this Swede.

 4. Ehrencrona
After his single, This is So Good went viral, labelled as an Avicii track, Ehrencrona has been one of the top, up and coming house producers of 2012. His follow up single, Crossfire, a high octane, feel-good banger has catapulted the producer from a rising star to a house big shot. He may not have received as much recognition for his tracks as he deserves, and the views for Crossfire are somewhat disappointing compared to its predecessor, but he still looks set to have an explosive 2013.

 5. Knife Party
Be very afraid. This scarily good duo, who formed in 2011 from the remnants of Pendulum, have seen their music, almost overnight, spread like wildfire. The two synth destroyers possess a nasty sting in their tail, with pummelling bass drops and snarling snares.
They started off 2012 with a UK Top 5 hit with Swedish House Mafia on their collaboration Antidote. Their first EP released at the end of 2011 was then eclipsed by their monstrous EP, Rage Valley that has not only managed to be absolutely destructive in the clubs, but has also invaded the more commercial levels of mainstream radio, and even the alien realms of the charts.
Pioneers of this fiery and dangerous new brand of electronic music, Knife Party have gradually become one of the biggest names in their genre. Shake in fear as they take over the underground and commercial world with their heavyweight machine-gun productions.

 6. Nicky Romero
Since evolutionary DJ David Guetta has taken Romero under his wing, everything has escalated quickly for Toulouse star. 2012 saw them collaborate and release monster tracks Metropolis and Wild Ones Two but he has also worked with a host of other artists, including Nervo, Fedde Le Grand, Zedd, Avicii and Calvin Harris, as well as co-producing for Rihanna of course. Having debuted as the highest new entry of 2012, at 17 in the DJ Mag 100, this super collaborator has not only made a massive impact on this year, but is also certain to make an even bigger one next year.

 7. Reepublic
This comet-like super group of French producers have only recently struck earth, yet they have already set the bar extremely high. Taking the heads of both Dutch and Swedish house lovers and hitting them together, the quintet have put France well and truly on the map by representing their country with heart-hammering house anthems. The debut release from the French super group, Turn Off The Light is a hugely anthemic powerhouse smash, skyrocketing them from five individually good producers into one of the potentially biggest exports for 2013. The super group are already being hailed by some as the next Swedish House Mafia, and these people might well be right.

 8. Redlight
He has come a long way this year, scoring two infinitely catchy top 20 hits, having a UK number 5 smash, Lost in Your Love and getting signed to Polydor Records serving as definite highlights. The producer’s brand of pounding and addictive beats looks set to continue its way into 2013, hopefully with the release of more singles and an album.

 9. Matrix & Futurebound
Having spent the first years of their musical careers separately travelling through the underground sector of the DnB world, the duo came together during 2007.
In 2012, after spending a few years creating their signature underground -friendly DnB, they made a turn for fresh water and erupted into the mainstream with dance-inducing epic, All I Know and their glittering new DnB-Pop single, Magnetic Eyes, to be released at the end of this year. The duo have already claimed one top 30 hit and it seems inevitable that Magnetic Eyes will provide them with their second.

 10. Benga
Landing himself a show on BBC Radio 1 with Skream was not the start of it for Benga, a producer who found himself in the spotlight originally as part of Magnetic Man, a dubstep trio consisting of himself, Skream and Artwork.
Having already released two EPs, you might wonder how full his beat-manufacturing tank could be, but after the releases of new singles such as the slick Icon and summery Pour Your Love our appetites have been perfectly wetted for the main event of the album, Chapter 2, coming early next year.
