Duke Dumont ft A*M*E & MNEK –
Need U (100%)

Retro vibes thud through the intro, ominously preparing us for the coming wonder. When it finally falls away it lets loose a robust core-resonating synth. It really gives the track an exceptionally different and ear-pleasing result, ricocheting through our speakers, which suddenly seem inadequate for the task. The backing vocals provided by MNEK weave through the modern bass vibrations.
All the while pop songstress A*M*E, who recently blasted her way into the public eye when she appeared on the BBC Sound of 2013 List, struts her stuff through the song, aiding it with fast-paced deliveries. But she doesn’t just do that in a relatively bland mechanical way - she does it excellently, carefully making sure she allows the bass room to breathe, still staying close enough so that she can varnish the surface of his production into a blinding shine.
For the grand finale it gradually goes out of control, spiralling into an epic cacophony of thundering production and polished vocals, thickly entwining into one pulsating beast. It is relatively unusual to find electronic, pop and soul music all rolled into one but this example has been formulated in such a confident, well-oiled fashion it has compounded itself into an extremely fluid and comprehensive mix that will prove addictive for you and your speakers.
