Cash Cash – I Like It Loud

Cash Cash are an American synth-pop trio constructed of brothers, Jean and Alex Makhlouf and friend Jeff Sayers. The trio all produce their songs in addition to performing a range of other functions, varying from keyboard to guitar. They have recently transformed their sound from a more typical band sound and have instead decided to add a major emphasis on the production of their songs. The result is I Like It Loud, a high octane rave-inducing tune, generating a flurry of energy and fire.
The eclectic cyclone of production goes at the speed of light, maximising every second and utilising a wide range of genres and styles. It takes electronic robot voices, reminiscent of Daft Punk and intersperses them with the group’s characteristic vocals, before pouring them into a mosh pit mix of vibrant production twists and turns. The beat opens as a more dance-inspired piece to fully draw our attention, which is then quickly infused with a heavy beat that explodes into a manic full-blown house party. But where most would stop, Cash Cash have ventured further and broken into a wild and rampant dubstep drop, tipping the song over the edge, sending it into orbit. The video that accompanies these sounds is similarly berserk and navigates us through a ubiquitous storm of audio and visual madness.
Cash Cash are an unusual signing for Spinnin’ Recordings, a label normally home to a collection of more house, dance and electronic-based artists, but it seems the production prowess of the trio has lent them a place on the label. I Like It Loud is an extremely good song filled with dynamite beats and rocket-fuelled pace.
