Redlight – Lost in Your Love
Following Get Out My Head is this similarly catchy tune, Lost in Your Love. The single which is set to be released on mega label, Polydor Records, was premiered on Annie Mac’s Friday night show on Radio 1 as the special delivery during early June. It is now, at time of publishing, on the Radio 1 B-List and is Mistajam’s Jam Hot of the week. The single is set to drop on the 5th August and is available to pre-order on iTunes now.
The song itself uses simply amazing beats that are perfect for clubs during the summer months and it carries an old school vibe while at the same time making it sound current. The producer has used his previous theme of mixing beats with female vocalists but this time instead of including hip-hop style vocals he has gone for more soulful vocals that are crying out at the power of the music. The two vocalists are used to provide a clever combination: the interlude contains the calm vocals accompanied by subdued beats and then the main chorus is provided by the second vocalist shadowed by a wave of summer beats.
Interestingly the song was not inspired by any sort of love story but in fact through Redlight’s reflections on the domination of technology in our lives. Hence the style of video, which is filled with lots of random objects of data and a kaleidoscope of images. It might be a mind bender at times, but videos are less important in this genre of music and it is nice to see an interesting and expressive video.
Get Out My Head was a decent tune, with great success in the charts, but this is a better song overall due to its improved vocals and perfected beats. There is no doubt that Redlight has really stepped up his game this year with this dance/pop interchange of addictive beats taking the clubs and charts by storm.

  1. "it carries an old school vibe while at the same time making it sound current. " <-- how can someone be able to do such a track :D Anyway I'm just concerned about the 3rd paragraph cos I just really wonder whether they only were your own impressions or you got this from another source which is reliable. Thanks. :)

  2. btw re the old school vibe are u questioning whether that makes sense or marvelling at Redlights skills? :)

as for the business about technology rather than love being the storyline, he himself said that in a interview on the radio last week :)

  3. Lol I just find that particular sentence a little oxymoron - as in the first thought cancels the other. But if u say so... well, you're the expert in music. ^_^
