Timbaland ft Ne-Yo – Hands in the
Air
Hands in the
Air is the new single from producer, rapper and songwriter, Timbaland, that
takes a more unique route than the usual mainstream party records of the modern
day world of pop. The single will be one of the main songs used in the latest
movie in the Step Up series of movies and will be hoping to follow in the
successful footsteps of previous soundtrack smashes by fellow rapper, Flo Rida
such as Low and Club Can’t Handle me.
The beat is not overly excessive but still provides great support for the vocals of Timbaland and Ne-Yo. The vocals of both are also used in a slightly less conventional way with Ne-Yo providing the interlude verse rather than the chorus, which is instead provided by Timbaland through a chant that is relentlessly catchy. The chant is enforced through an overlapping fusion of beats, sound effects and underlying vocals from Ne-Yo to create a hum of powerful diversity and helps to further energize the song. In summary, it’s a surprisingly good and massively catchy party tune.

ReplyDeleteAs for this track, I actually struggle to appreciate the vocals in it but I agree with the rest of the descriptions you gave for the sounds behind this track. Hence I'd prefer to listen to an instrumental of this if there is. :)
Thanks for the kind words, its very encouraging to hear!
