Timomatic - Parachute

Parachute is the new single from Australia’s Got Talent finalist turned RnB sensation, Timomatic. The dancer singer-songwriter may be a new name to many of us in the UK but down under Timomatic, real name Tim Omaji, is already becoming a household name in the RnB and dance world. He is now a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and has become a frequent visitor of the charts with five top 20 singles and a top three album already under his belt.

Parachute stays close to the sound of Timomatic’s last album but certain elements have been developed. The song boasts the more refined dance beats of super-producer, Red One, and to compliment this, Timomatic has also honed his vocal abilities. His vocals stride purposefully but accurately alongside the production, and they run on top of the guitar sections with little to no effort. The brisk high-energy guitar sections are an important dimension to Parachute, helping to propel the song between choruses and into the frantically invigorating dance-drop. At the same time they act as a crucial component, re-enforcing Timomatic’s melodic RnB identity within the sometimes boisterous dance music.

Timomatic’s music always had boundless amounts of energy and he has always had the ability to effortlessly match lyric and vocal to production, but Parachute seems to have a slightly more matured, balanced presence. Nonetheless, it still packs the feel-good intensity of previous material like the rumbling Can You Feel It, anthemic Give Me Your Love and the guitar-tinged lyrically elegant If Looks Could Kill. And of course, no Timomatic video would be complete, without those electric dance-moves!
